When you first start setting up an affiliate marketing website your research is going to keep telling you to 'search for the keywords'. That's all well and good and you'd probably be very happy to go on the hunt for a keyword or two - if only someone would tell you WHAT a keyword IS. Oh, and by the way, WHERE do you find them? !
A keyword is simple -
it's the word, or words, that you type into the search box when you're looking for information. And most of them are right in your own head. Think about it - if you were searching for information on designer handbags, what might you type into the search box?

• and on and on and on....
Each of those is a keyword and we didn't even have to go to the Google Keyword Tool to find them. So a keyword is any word that a searcher might use to find information about the product you're trying to promote.
One thing to keep in mind is that YOU do not control the keywords the searchers use. You can't force them all to look for information on red handbags. You have no idea which keyword they're going to use. So it's to your benefit to write an article or blog post for each separate keyword you come across that searchers might use.
Not every topic or niche will have a list of keywords as extensive as the designer handbag niche. And you'll always want to go to the Google Keyword tool to determine the number of searchers and to also find additional sub-keywords  The more keywords you use in your content, the easier it will be for the searchers to find your site.,
If there are only a few dozen relevant keywords, then you're in luck. But if there are thousands, as in the case of designer handbags, it would be to your benefit to narrow your niche. Perhaps you'd want to focus strictly on Gucci Bags or Red Purses or Leather Clutches so you can provide better, more detailed information instead of spreading yourself too thin .
